What we're up to...
MARTIN:
Well, life has been very good to us over the past year. We have done and seen more in the past 12 months than many do in their whole lives. We are grateful for having the opportunity to be here in Europe and we intend to continue taking advantage of it.

Becky and I are currently in pursuit of our Master's Degrees. We are both taking human relations courses, with the intent on graduating in the summer of 2002. School has definitely put a damper on a lot of our travel plans, but it's our number one priority right now.

We just picked up a 1989 Porsche 944 S2 which is an absolute blast to drive. Finally a car that that was built for the autobahn! Check out The Autozone page for pictures.

BECKY:
As I mentioned on our Home Page, this has definitely been a busy, emotional and productive year for Martin and I. I was able to travel a lot this year for my job and went to Croatia, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. I also flew back to the US in April and completed my Officer Advance Course at Ft. Lee, VA. I then flew home to WI for a week for a visit. It was a lot of fun to see everyone!! Then in July, my mom and dad made their first trip to Germany. The four of us had a great time together, especially in Leichtenstein! ;) After working for the Joint Contact Team Program in EUCOM for a year and a half, I terminated my orders on active duty on 13 September and will now become a full time mom. I will continue to be a weekend warrior in the Reserves, but my new title is "mommy"! I'm very excited and very nervous.

Those wacky Chemans
So, for those of you who might have lost track (or never paid attention), here is a little history on how we got to where we are:

Jan 1999: Becky and Martin meet at the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course in Fort Lee, VA. It was a match made in the Army - who'd a thunk it?

May 1999: Martin leaves for assignment to Seoul, Korea for a year. Becky returns home to Wisconsin, missing him dearly...

Aug 1999: Against all odds, Becky flies halfway around the world to join Martin in one of the craziest cities on Earth. Martin is eternally grateful.

Dec 1999: A September engagement turns into a cold December wedding in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Everyone has a great time (of course).

Jun 2000: We survived the Korea experience! Happily married, we force ourselves to spend a week in Hawaii to celebrate...

Jul 2000: We arrive in Stuttgart, Germany. It's 55 degrees outside. We don't care - it's still a hell of a lot better than Korea!!

Feb 2002: We find out that Becky is pregnant!

Jun 2002: We complete our Masters Degree though the University of Oklahoma.

Jul 2002: Martin gets promoted to Captain.

Oct 2002: Baby Cheman is due on the 19th!!! (still waiting)

Yes, we would love to hear from you!
